As a licensed Public Adjuster, Thyrrice (Tia) Fijalkowski excels at helping clients gain an understanding of what their insurance company covers in the event of a catastrophe or loss. She specializes in property causality insurance and believes in her responsibility to help clients understand their rights and make the best possible decisions for their unique situations.
Originally from Long Island New York, Tia has been living in Port Charlotte Florida for 22 years. She enjoys walking, biking, painting, decorating, gardening, and listening to live music.
Tia entered the insurance arena in 2004 after she was directly impacted by Hurricane Charley and because of that experience, she began taking classes in insurance policy interpretation in order to learn about homeowner’s policies and homeowner’s rights under the policy. Tia found her passion. She worked for multiple Public Adjusting firms until 2016 when she opened her own firm. Tia has over 17 years’ experience combined in both construction and insurance adjusting. Tia is licensed in multiple states and co-hosted a radio program in Texas called Insurance 911 where people could call in and ask questions either about their current or previous claims.
While working catastrophe claims, Tia said “It was so upsetting to me to see how other adjusters would determine the value of a policyholder’s loss yet had nearly almost no understanding of basic construction techniques. More importantly, these people were the same individuals who were expected to do right by the policy holders who had paid premiums for decades.”
It’s terribly unfair that a homeowner or business owner is completely at the mercy of people who have no working knowledge of construction. As a result, she then decided to concentrate her efforts and stand up for the rights of the homeowner as well as commercial business policyholders.
As a licensed Public Adjuster with eleven years’ experience working with insurance carriers, she knows how to analyze and account for many of the repair details that are often left out of an insurance carrier’s scope. Tia worked as a decorator designer from 2002 thru 2004 this gave her a unique understanding of custom applications such as painting techniques, tile, furniture, wallpaper applications and window treatments. Tia owned her own construction company from 2004 thru 2012. Tia currently resides in Port Charlotte and keeps busy with everyday claims as well as catastrophic losses.
